He graduated from the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography in 1966.
In 2004 he was awarded the National Prize “Taffy” for a film about Chechnya “Black Fire”.
Author and director of the first film about the President of Russia Vladimir Putin – “Power” and “Evening Talk”.
Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Poland, member of the Russian Union of Journalists. Winner of international and Russian festivals of documentary films.
Honored Artist of Russia.
